Community rules for good-faith dialogue
These rules protect sincere questions, principled disagreement, privacy, and equal treatment.
Rule 1
Ask sincerely and discuss in good faith
Questions must genuinely seek understanding, clarification, comparison, or exploration. Do not disguise ridicule or attacks as questions.
Rule 2
Respect every person and every belief tradition
Strong disagreement with ideas is allowed; insulting, degrading, mocking, stereotyping, or dehumanizing people is not.
Rule 3
No personal attacks or hostile language
No name-calling, targeted profanity, threats, taunting, humiliation, belittling sarcasm, or attacks on a member’s intelligence, morality, sincerity, or worth.
Rule 4
Do not preach at, pressure, or command other members
Members may explain their faith, but may not command another person to convert, repent, obey, accept doctrine, or follow a religious practice.
Rule 5
Critique ideas, not people
Doctrines, texts, history, practices, and institutions may be examined critically. Criticism must be specific, calm, and evidence-based.
Rule 6
Cite sources responsibly
Religious texts, books, scholarship, articles, and historical sources may be cited. Sources should be identified when possible. Quotations shall not be used as threats or superiority weapons.
Rule 7
Speak from your own perspective
Prefer language such as “In my understanding” or “In my tradition.” Do not claim all members of a religion believe or behave identically.
Rule 8
No hatred or contempt toward protected groups
Attacks based on religion, ethnicity, nationality, race, gender, disability, or other protected characteristics are prohibited.
Rule 9
No harassment, dogpiling, or repeated targeting
Do not follow a member from thread to thread to shame, provoke, challenge, or overwhelm them.
Rule 10
Keep discussions serious and relevant
Spam, trolling, baiting, repetitive slogans, promotional content, or deliberate disruption may be removed.
Rule 11
Protect privacy and safety
Do not publish another person’s private contact information, identity documents, financial details, private messages, or other sensitive personal information without permission.
Rule 12
Review before publication
Every new or edited submission stays non-public until an authorized human reviewer applies these rules and permits publication. Automated security checks may block unsafe content but cannot approve it.
Rule 13
Human decisions and appeals
Moderators must apply the same rules regardless of religion, nationality, or viewpoint. Members may revise and resubmit content or appeal an eligible adverse human decision.
Rule 14
Good-faith disagreement is protected
A respectful question/post shall not be removed merely because it challenges, questions, or disagrees with a religion or belief. Tone and conduct are decisive.
Rule 15
Religious topics only
Faith Forum is dedicated to discussion, learning, and questions about religion, faith, beliefs, and directly related subjects. Posts/questions/discussions primarily about politics or social issues that are not directly related to religion/faith shall not be accepted or published.
