Reports of crowded churches and renewed interest in Christianity have prompted an important question: is a broad religious revival taking place, or do striking local experiences coexist with a more mixed national picture?
Pew Research Center’s December 2025 analysis found relative stability in several measures of American religion and urged care when interpreting patterns among younger adults. A full church in one city can be a real and meaningful experience without establishing a nationwide trend.
What would help us discuss this well? We could distinguish attendance, Christian identity, prayer, trust in institutions, and the depth of people’s relationships. These measures do not always move together.
- If you are a younger adult, what has drawn you toward—or away from—a Christian community?
- What makes a first visit feel welcoming rather than pressured?
- What evidence would convince you that a lasting change is happening?
Personal experiences are welcome. Please identify their setting and avoid treating one experience as representative of an entire generation.
